S.R.K.R. Engineering College has established Centre of Excellence with an aim is to attain new heights in Ayurveda Research in areas that join traditional medical system with the computer sciences, engineering, mathematics, and physics. This centre is successful in inspiring the students, faculty & other science and engineering communities in knowing that Ayurveda is a holistic natural life science from India with a history of more than ten thousand years. In the view of promoting the traditional medicine which is the knowledge, skills and practices of holistic healthcare, recognized and accepted for the role in the maintenance of health and the treatment of diseases.

Ayurveda is the Vedic Science of ancient Hindu Medicine which is part of Atharva Veda. In this modern technological world in order to survive the Ayurveda is a science of life. “Ayush” means life, and “veda” means knowledge. It is the real knowledge about life – the knowledge about what the real life is and how to manage it. Several diseases have sprung up and are increasing due to the basic factor of stress and aggressiveness, and are now frequenting at an early age.

In this rut of life, each one is left to cater to one's own needs causing a vicious cycle of stress and distress, threatening one's very existence!. Indeed, there are many natural healing sciences across the globe.

The centre develops and manages programmes in generating awareness among the public about Ayurveda, such as the display of medicinal plants, the tools, the minerals and medicine processes, and the development of methods for the analysis and dissemination of medicinal plants. Other centre activities include the support of multidisciplinary collaborations and of workshops, courses. Centre for Knowledge of life is engaged in medicine research, development and innovation.

Centre for Knowledge of Life's mission is to maximize the benefits of Ayurveda and importance of medicinal plants and their extreme use to benefit their livelihood with good health to the nation by being an excellent, comprehensive information centre that supports, coordinates, disseminates and advances of Ayurvedic plants.
