SPACE TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH CENTRE (STRC)

Space Technology Research Centre (STRC) organises, integrates, and facilities space science and technology research activities. It brings together a wide range of faculty who are active in space-related research for the promotion of research.

OBJECTIVES

Research in areas of environment and natural resources, image processing, mobile applications, atmosphere, coastal zone management etc.
Recommend / suggest remedial measures / action plans for implementation.
Familiarize / train the students in the advanced technologies and current research trends.
To establish strong links with NRSC, ISRO, Hyderabad and ISRO, Bengaluru to carryout quality research and development projects which are of relevance to space and derive useful outputs..
To carry out spatial-temporal surveys to monitor changing land use patterns, environmental changes, irrigation systems, forest resources using space technologies.
To act as model organisation in the state, advising the user agencies and disseminate the remote sensing technology at operational levels.
To cooperate and collaborate with other national and overseas institutions for research in space technology and its applications.
Dissemination of scientific information, creating awareness and contribute directly to society

2. Project titled "Asset mapping work of villages of West Godavari district using Bhuvan’s Panchayat mobile app" sponsored by National Remote Sensing Centre NRSC, ISRO Hyderabad. Total Project Cost: Rs. 18.18 lakhs..
3. Project titled "Asset mapping work of villages of East Godavari district using Bhuvan’s Panchayat mobile app" sponsored by National Remote Sensing Centre NRSC, ISRO Hyderabad. Total Project Cost: Rs. 21.38 lakhs.
