SRKR Engineering College is the cradle of technical education in the Godavari Delta and has been a launch pad for many dreams to become global citizens for the past forty years. The first batch students of this college, now in the twilight years of their careers have been guiding stars and luminaries in their organisations and their communities, globally. The Godavari region, known for its rich culture and traditions has produced stalwarts in all walks of life. The age old dharmic traditions are still respected and the parents support their children until they are able to face real life on their own. The pre-wedding rituals like Niśchitārtham, Snātakaṃ, Kāśī Yātra are now mere symbols of a once glorius intellectual tradition of the Gurukula system of education. Higher education meant a serious commitment of time and resources, leaving for far off places like Kashmir, Kasi, Mithila or Navadveep on foot more months on end.

Now in the modern times, when the entire world is in our palm, (Smartphone's) information is available to everyone, not just those who go to the topmost universities in the world. Yet, the role of an educational institution has never been more important in guiding a young adult into a happy human being. Right from EAPCET counselling (Niśchitārtham) where a teenager commits to becoming an engineer with a certain specialisation, to graduation (Snātakaṃ) to reporting for their first job training or orientation for Master Programme (Kāśī Yātra), it takes a mature institution.

While there are many branches of engineering, the job opportunities in all sectors are not the same However, the knowledge and skills acquired in all branches of engineering boil down to critical thinking, analysis, design, testing and taking calculated risks. These skills are invaluable in any profession and engineering graduates have made their mark in all professions ranging from agriculture to astronomy. With 12 B.Tech. programmes, SRKR can help a student to get into virtually any career by choosing appropriate master programmes after their B.Tech.

With reputed companies like TCS, Infosys picking students in the hundreds, a diligent student is guaranteed an opportunity to face the best employers and make his case for getting an opportunity. The college also has one of a kind Technology Incubation centre that supports startups by students, to develop entrepreneurs and job creators. There are special arrangements for SC, ST students supported by AICTE to incubate their startups.

Unlike other fields of endeavour, technology changes every passing day and a technical institution can’t stay relevant without updating its knowledge resources, the faculty, the library, laboratories regularly. SRKR has 18 centres of excellence which carry out cutting edge research both in core domains and frontier areas to develop transformative technologies that help government, industry and ultimately society in creating a more just, humane and sustainable society. The researchers are sought after by people’s representatives for technical inputs on policy decisions that affect the state..

The college has many Ph.D.s amongst its staff who work on issues ranging from nano-tubes to global warming and have international linkages with reputed universities in North American and Europe. Our work for the past two decades has attracted international attention and our colleagues now work with European Scientists in tandem on EU-India funded projects to solve problems that are global concern and whose solutions could help meet many of the Sustainable Development Goals of the world. Intellectually, there can never be a dull moment in SRKR.

The college has plenty of co-curricular and extracurricular activities with the best infrastructure in town for all kinds of contact and non-contact sports. Right from the early morning (Inner Engineering Classes) to midnight (Technology Centre), whether one is an early bird or a night owl or somewhere in between, there is a perch for every young mind to make his/her 4 B.Tech. years the solid foundation for their adult, independent life. The academic calendar has college level and department level events that students from all engineering colleges look forward to.

With the highest number as well as percentage of young population of any country in the world, India is poised to be a positive influence on the world in the decades to come.
