CENTRE FOR BIOINFORMATICS RESEARCH (CBR)
Department of Information Technology, S.R.K.R. Engineering College has established this Centre of Excellence with an aim to attain new heights in Bioinformatics research in areas that join Biology with the Computer Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics. This centre is successful in inspiring the students, faculty & other science and engineering communities in updating their technological skills and their orientation towards research and technology development. The centre develops and manages programmes in Computational Biology, such as the generation of mathematical models of biological networks, the development of modeling and simulation tools, the conduct of basic theoretical studies related to network organisation and dynamic processes, and the development of methods for the analysis and dissemination of computational models. The Centre for Bioinformatics Research works in a number of areas including Genome Analysis, Comparative genomics and Human disease analysis. The centre also defines the Institute's needs for database development and applications. Other centre activities include the support of multidisciplinary collaborations and of workshops, courses.
MISSION:
Our mission is to maximise the benefits of Bioinformatics to the nation by being an excellent quality, comprehensive Bioinformatics Centre that supports, coordinates, disseminates and advances Bioinformatics.
