As per the guidelines of Mahathma Gandhi National Councel For Rural Education (MGNCRE), Ministry Of Education, Govt. India, Sagi Rama Krishnam Raju Engineering College, Bhimavaram, formed Psychosocial Support Service (PSS) Cell and organized a workshop on ‘Guidance on Psychosocial Support in the Covid Pandemic’ on 17/06/2021 in Virtual Mode (Zoom). For this workshop, Mr. Suresh Jampa, Resource Person, MGNCRE, guided the students and faculty towards the Psycho-social counseling skills in the Covid-19 pandemic time in order to render services to the Covid-19 affected community through online and data sharing. The PSS Cell has three teams to extend services on various grounds to the COVID affected community.

The main objective of the workshop is to motivate students and faculty of the college to extend their service to Covid-19 affected community from home by sharing the authentic data like availability of beds, oxygen, hospitals, food provision, ambulance availability, online counseling to Covid affected patients and so on.

During the pandemic, the Resource Person Mr. Suresh Jampa conducted the workshop in which he explained how to go about dealing with Covid-affected community and providing necessary information by sharing through social media by a simple way i.e., “CONTACT-CONNECT-CONTRIBUTE”. He guided students on how to speak and motivate the Covid affected. He requested all the students giving suggestions to them and the faculty to serve in a better way under the PSSC.
The Cell still continues its services in the form of giving information about various hospitals in and around Bhimavaram, providing blood in urgency associating with the NSS Unit of the college and so on.
