SRKR Coding Club

The Coding Club at S R K R Engineering College is an official organization that aims to promote the institution's coding culture through various activities such as workshops, hands-on sessions, and hackathons. The club holds weekly and monthly meetups where its members get to participate in new technology sessions under the guidance of the club's working committee.

The club is open to all students, regardless of their level of expertise in coding. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced coder, the Coding Club offers opportunities for growth and collaboration. Benefits of joining the Coding Club include skill enhancement through workshops, training sessions, and coding challenges. Convenor

Mr. K. David Raju Kuppala, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, serves as the Convener of the SRKR Coding Club. With over 15 years of teaching experience and expertise in Web Technologies, Data Structures, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, he actively mentors students, organizes technical events, and plays a key role in fostering coding culture and innovation through workshops, hackathons, and training programs.

CodeQuest (Problem of the Day):
CodeQuest is a daily problem-solving challenge organized by the SRKR Coding Club to foster consistent coding practice and strengthen students’ problem-solving skills. Every day, a Problem of the Day (POTD) is shared in a dedicated WhatsApp group, covering a wide range of topics—from basic programming to advanced Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). The initiative encourages regular engagement, peer learning, and steady progress, helping students prepare for competitive programming and technical interviews.
EDGECASE (Biweekly Coding Contest):
EdgeCase is a bi-weekly programming contest organized by the SRKR Coding Club to promote consistent coding and healthy competition among students. Held every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month on HackerRank, the contest features three curated challenges—Easy, Medium, and Hard—based on topics announced monthly. It’s open to all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year students, encouraging them to test their skills, track their progress, and grow as competitive coders.
Iconcoderz (Internal Coding Competition):
Icon Coderz is an intra-college coding competition conducted by the SRKR Coding Club at SRKR Engineering College, Bhimavaram. With two levels—Beginner for 1st & 2nd years and Expert for 3rd & 4th years—the event challenges students to solve problems, showcase their coding skills, and compete with peers from other colleges. It promotes critical thinking, creativity, and innovation among budding programmers.
HackoverFlow (National Level Hackathon):
HackOverflow is a 24-hour national-level hackathon organized by the SRKR Coding Club at Sagi Rama Krishnam Raju Engineering College (Autonomous), Bhimavaram. It brings together innovative minds from across the country to collaborate, code, and build impactful tech solutions. With a focus on creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, HackOverflow provides a platform for students to tackle real-world challenges, present their ideas to expert judges, and gain hands-on experience in fast-paced project development. The event fosters a spirit of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Workshops (C, Python, Web Development):
As part of its continuous learning initiatives, the SRKR Coding Club organized hands-on workshops on C Programming, Python, and Web Development. These workshops were aimed at equipping students with strong foundational and practical skills in programming and development. Tailored for beginners and intermediate learners, the sessions provided step-by-step guidance, real-time coding practice, and interactive problem-solving to help students build confidence and kickstart their coding journey. The workshops received enthusiastic participation and contributed to fostering a strong tech culture on campus.
Online Courses (Taught to Affiliates):
The SRKR Coding Club conducted online programming courses in C, C++, Java, and Python exclusively for our college students. These courses were designed to strengthen foundational programming skills through structured modules, live interactive sessions, and hands-on exercises. Tailored to meet the academic needs of our student community, the initiative provided a robust learning platform to boost coding proficiency and foster a deeper understanding of software development.
Awareness session on resume building and Interview preparation:
An awareness session on resume building and interview preparation helps individuals understand the importance of creating a strong first impression through a well-structured resume that highlights skills, achievements, and relevance to the job role. It emphasizes tailoring resumes for each opportunity to increase shortlisting chances and building confidence through proper interview preparation. By practicing common and role-specific questions, candidates can improve communication, clarity, and self-presentation. Such sessions guide individuals in showcasing their strengths effectively and prepare them to stand out in today’s competitive job market.

Industry Connect

Full Stack Web Development Course in association with Vils.AI:
The SRKR Coding Club, in collaboration with Vils.AI, conducted a hands-on Full Stack Development Course open to students of SRKR and other colleges. Covering a modern tech stack—HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js, GitHub, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB—the course focused on real-time project development and practical skills. Delivered by industry experts, it offered students exposure to real-world development workflows. To reward excellence, the top two performers were offered paid internships with Vils.AI, providing them valuable industry experience and mentorship.
Hackoverflow in Collaboration with Eduexpose:
HackOverflow is a national-level hackathon organized by the SRKR Coding Club in collaboration with Eduexpose, aimed at bringing together innovative minds from across the country to solve real-world challenges through technology. Hosted at Sagi Rama Krishnam Raju Engineering College (Autonomous), Bhimavaram, the event provides a dynamic platform for students to collaborate, code, and build impactful solutions within a 24-hour timeframe. With expert mentorship, diverse problem statements, and a competitive yet creative environment, HackOverflow encourages participants to push boundaries, showcase their skills, and turn bold ideas into working prototypes.
