ABOUT AICTE IDEALab:

AICTE IDEALAB has been aiming to transform education imparted in the institution to promote multidisciplinary education , innovation and research takes place. IDEALAB creates the platform for innovation and research to students and faculty with hands-on experience with the latest equipment in order to develop new projects and offer live internships with the industry support .

AICTE-IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) Lab in its approved institutions for encouraging students for application of Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fundamentals towards enhanced hands-on experience and learning by doing.

As per the need of 21st Century Skill enhancement for students ( like Critical Thinking, Problem solving, Design Thinking ,Collaboration, Communication , Life long Learning ) , New National Educational Policy and Industry 4.0 to promote inter-disciplinary activities amongst different departments of the college to foster creativity among students and faculty and also made available all the facilities of IDEA LAB to the Students and Faculty from other colleges and Schools in the surrounding region of our college.

SRKREC will act as host institute to extend mentoring and IDEA LAB facilities to surrounding colleges and schools in our region.
The main objective of IDEA LAB is to fulfill the term used by our Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi ji “Atmanirbhar Bharat” which translates to 'self-reliant India' or 'self-sufficient India' that leads to “Making India” with an mission statement of this scheme is “Step in with an idea, Step out with a prototype or product”.

As our College located in rural area , it is possible to identify and address the societal problems and challenges in rural areas and also possibility of finding solutions through IDEA LAB to fulfill the concept of “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.

IDEA LAB creates the ecosystem for transforming ideation to Prototype or Product . IDEA LAB creates the platform for innovation and research to students and faculty with hands-on experience with the latest equipment to in order to develop new projects and offer live internships with the industry support .

Networking with nearby colleges and Industry and to make best use of this resource and share best practices on enhancing employability skills training like Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Block chain, Robotics (Drones, Underwater Vehicle), Quantum Computing, Data

Science, Cyber Security, 3D Printing & Design, Augmented Reality (AR)/ Virtual Reality (VR) etc.,

By involving faculty and students from different departments of SRKREC and people from other surrounding institutes to promote Multidisciplinary education , innovation and research takes place through IDEA Lab to work independently on a common problem .

AICTE IDEA Lab is going to be a long-term intervention aiming to transform education imparted in SRKREC

Duration of the Project:

Duration of project will be two years from the date of receipt of funds by the institute. AICTE will monitor the IDEA Lab as part of IDEA Labs Network (IDEALNET) for 5 years, so that cultural change in the campus becomes visible due to the fully functional Lab.

Monitoring

All IDEA Labs will, by default become a part of IDEA Lab Network, and subject to periodic monitoring on common parameters identified by AICTE. The performance visible to all, may be normalized for inducing healthy competition among all IDEA Labs, with collaborations also incentivized. This will help in significantly improving the visibility of the institution through qualitative improvement of graduates and also faculty.

Monitoring Mechanism :

Data on 15-20 parameters will have to be provided and uploaded on a weekly/ fortnightly/ monthly basis, as decided by AICTE. Points based on parameters will be added up to reflect the overall performance. The performance of all IDEA Labs will be reflected on a website maintained by AICTE.

Objectives :

Establishing ACITE-IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) Labs

Encouraging students for application of Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fundamentals

Making the engineering students more curious, imaginative and creative; engineering education more engaging

Training in critical thinking, problem-solving, design thinking, collaboration, etc.

Create IDEA LAB Network (IDEALNET)

Ideation / Design Thing Workshops conducted
From out come of Skilling and Ideation workshops , 18 Projects are initiated and 18 Projects are under Prototype Design.
Selected 3 projects for Rs 26.5 lakhs funding by MSME under MSME Scheme
4 ideas selected for IIT Bombay e-Yantra 2022 Competition
Students feel more comfortable to utilize the facilities of IDEALAB
Some final year students are involved to final semester projects
Collaborated with Atal Tinkering Lab Schools to activate ATLs and Government Schools for extending STEM education and developing INSPIRE projects. Started activites and 8th , 9th and 10th standard School students are utilizing the IDEALAB facilities.
