Bhimavaram, December 21: Dr. M Jagapathi Raju, Director of SRKR Engineering College, shared valuable insights on the use of technology in agriculture and horticulture during a training program organized by the College’s Technology Center and Idea Lab. He demonstrated firsthand how technology can be effectively applied in farming to improve productivity and profitability.
Dr. Jagapathi Raju showcased the use of mobile phone technology to operate motors in his own farm, emphasizing how technology is enhancing agricultural and horticultural practices. He explained innovative methods such as soaking wet burlap bags for pest control and cultivating papaya trees alongside other crops to maximize space and financial returns.
He also shared his successful experience with horticultural plants, demonstrating how yellow stop plates can be used to attract and manage insects, ensuring the plants remain healthy without the need for harmful chemical pesticides. Dr. Jagapathi Raju further emphasized that using technology to reduce the dependency on chemical fertilizers and pesticides is crucial for sustainable agricultural practices.
The program was attended by Dr. N Gopalakrishnamurthy, Head of the Technology Center, who praised the use of design thinking and innovative ideas to bring positive change to society. Faculty members, including Dr. KR Satyanarayana, Dean of Training and Placement, and Dr. V. Chandrasekhar, Dean of Academics, along with professors and young faculty, participated in the event, learning how technology-driven solutions can improve agricultural practices.

Bhimavaram, December 21: SRKR Engineering College recently distributed certificates to candidates who successfully completed the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) training in the College's Computer Science Engineering Department. The program was presided over by Dr. G. Mahesh, Program Coordinator, with College Principal Dr. KV Muralikrishna Raju and Vice President SV Rangaraju in attendance.
During the event, G. Narayana Raju, MD of NRGX Solar Services, highlighted the significant role that PMKVY training plays in enhancing the skills of youth, thereby improving their employment opportunities. He emphasized that such training programs help provide valuable skills that contribute to personal growth and national development.
Dr. KV Muralikrishna Raju and SV Rangaraju encouraged the students to take full advantage of the free training programs offered by the Central Government, urging them to hone their skills in order to secure better job prospects and contribute to India's global standing.
Program Coordinator Dr. G. Mahesh shared that a total of 240 individuals received training under PMKVY, and out of these, 196 candidates successfully passed the examinations conducted for the certification program.

The inaugural session was presided over by Dr. N Gopalakrishnamurthy, Head of the Technology Center. Social entrepreneur Harshikesh Patil, who was the keynote speaker, emphasized that design thinking plays a pivotal role in driving innovation in research projects. He highlighted the importance of new ideas in education, stating that they stimulate creativity and encourage students and researchers to think differently.
Dr. KV Muralikrishna Raju, Principal of the College, spoke about the significance of nurturing innovative ideas in students, noting that it is crucial to help them develop creative solutions to challenges. He urged teachers to make the most of the teacher training program to enhance their teaching methodologies.
Dr. Prasad Raju, a former official of ST, discussed how design thinking can help researchers refine their ideas, bringing new perspectives to the forefront. Dr. M Suresh Babu, Head of the CSD Department, shared that many students have already started their own startups with innovative ideas, and that design thinking is key to sparking entrepreneurial ventures.
The program is being attended by a team of college faculty members, with Sushmita Kannara, Co-founder of Pencil Treks Foundation, also participating in the event. The program aims to equip participants with the tools to apply design thinking in their research and teaching, fostering a culture of innovation at SRKR Engineering College.
Bhimavaram, December 12: Dr. K. Mehar Ganesh, Professor of Civil Engineering at SRKR Engineering College, has been honored with the Best Project Award at the national level. The recognition was announced by College Principal, Dr. KV Muralikrishnam Raju.
Dr. Ganesh was awarded for his project titled "Mapping Urban Dynamics: A Geo-Spatial Study of Gautama Buddha Nagar Transformation (2014-2024)," which he presented during the National Geo-Spatial Program conference held in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, from November 18 to December 7. The conference, which spanned 21 days, selected 24 participants from across the country, including professors from prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs. Dr. Ganesh's project was awarded first place as the Best Project.
During the event, College Director Dr. M Jagapathiraju praised Dr. Ganesh for bringing this rare honor to the college, highlighting the significance of his achievement in the national arena. The college's management, including Secretary Sagi Ramakrishna Nishant Varma, also congratulated Dr. Ganesh for his outstanding achievement.

Bhimavaram Rural, December 13: SRKR Engineering College has successfully facilitated job placements for 979 final-year engineering students through its campus placement drive, which was organized in collaboration with 18 leading companies.
The college's Secretary and Correspondent, Sagi Ramakrishna Nishant Varma, shared this achievement at a special meeting held on Friday to celebrate the students’ success. During the event, students who secured placements were honored for their accomplishments. College Director, Dr. M Jagapathiraju, and Principal, Dr. KV Muralikrishna Raju, also spoke at the ceremony, acknowledging the hard work and determination of the students.
College Vice President, SV Rangaraju, presented the students with awards and congratulated them on their success. The College President also distributed Prasad to the students as part of the celebration.
