Sankranti Celebrations at SRKR Engineering College

Bhimavaram Rural, January 6: SRKR Engineering College recently celebrated Sankranti, a festival that symbolizes the rich traditions of India, with great enthusiasm. The event was graced by Minister Bhupathiraju Srinivasavarma as the chief guest. Sankranti celebrations at the college included a variety of traditional activities, such as Gangireddu dances, Harida Tula stories, bonfires, and an array of mouth-watering Telugu delicacies. The event saw active participation from a large number of students, and the college management, including College President Secretary and Sagi Ramakrishna Nishant Varma, emphasized the importance of students voluntarily participating in such cultural events to showcase their hidden talents. College Director, Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju, and Principal Dr. KV Muralikrishna Raju also took part in the celebrations, which were met with much excitement and enthusiasm. The event was further attended by prominent figures such as MLA Raghuramaraju, the District Collector, and other officials. They appreciated the students’ participation and admired the delicious sweets prepared by the students as part of the cultural displays. The Sankranti festival at SRKR Engineering College was a wonderful celebration of Indian traditions, showcasing the cultural diversity and talent of the students, while promoting the importance of preserving and celebrating such traditions year after year.

Virtual Launch of the Filter Bed at SRKR Engineering College

Bhimavaram Rural: SRKR Engineering College recently launched a new filter bed facility, constructed with financial assistance from the Peda Amiram Pham Chayat, valued at Rs. 35 lakhs. The inauguration was conducted virtually from the premises of the college, with Minister Lokesh leading the event. During the launch, Minister Lokesh praised the college management for their continuous contributions to both educational progress and community service. He congratulated the college for its ongoing initiatives that serve the public good. The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including College President and Secretary Sagi Prasadaraju, Sagi Ramakrishna Nishant Varma, Minister Ramanaidu, MLAs Raghuramakrishnaraju, Kamineni Srinivas, Anjibabu, APEIIC Chairman Mantena Ramaraju, the District Collector, and senior police officials. This new facility aims to further enhance the college’s infrastructure and contribute to the well-being of the surrounding community. Bhimavaram: The Computer Science and Engineering Department of SRKR Engineering College recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with a grand event, attended by alumni from across the country and abroad. The celebrations were marked by the presence of Dr. G Parthasarathy Verma, Vice Chancellor of KL Deemed to Be University, Vijayawada, who delivered an inspiring address to the gathering. Dr. Parthasarathy Verma emphasized that the achievements of former students stand as symbols of the college's progress. He highlighted the rapid growth of technology and the importance of developing skills beyond just obtaining degrees. He urged the alumni to continue contributing to the growth of their alma mater and support the development of future professionals by imparting new technologies to current students. College Director Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju and Principal Dr. KV Muralikrishna Raju expressed their happiness at the participation of alumni from across the country, noting the significant role of alumni in the development of the college. Technology in Agriculture and Horticulture: A Path to Profitable and Sustainable Practices

Bhimavaram, December 21: Dr. M Jagapathi Raju, Director of SRKR Engineering College, shared valuable insights on the use of technology in agriculture and horticulture during a training program organized by the College’s Technology Center and Idea Lab. He demonstrated firsthand how technology can be effectively applied in farming to improve productivity and profitability. Dr. Jagapathi Raju showcased the use of mobile phone technology to operate motors in his own farm, emphasizing how technology is enhancing agricultural and horticultural practices. He explained innovative methods such as soaking wet burlap bags for pest control and cultivating papaya trees alongside other crops to maximize space and financial returns. He also shared his successful experience with horticultural plants, demonstrating how yellow stop plates can be used to attract and manage insects, ensuring the plants remain healthy without the need for harmful chemical pesticides. Dr. Jagapathi Raju further emphasized that using technology to reduce the dependency on chemical fertilizers and pesticides is crucial for sustainable agricultural practices. The program was attended by Dr. N Gopalakrishnamurthy, Head of the Technology Center, who praised the use of design thinking and innovative ideas to bring positive change to society. Faculty members, including Dr. KR Satyanarayana, Dean of Training and Placement, and Dr. V. Chandrasekhar, Dean of Academics, along with professors and young faculty, participated in the event, learning how technology-driven solutions can improve agricultural practices. Dr. Jagapathi Raju's work with organic methods, including cultivating varieties like Pusa Basmati rice, serves as an inspiring example for farmers, proving that technological integration in agriculture can lead to both environmental sustainability and financial benefits.
