The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in the year 1980 with an annual student intake of 35 in B.E (ECE) course. Presently, the department offers a 4-year undergraduate program leading to B.E degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering of Andhra University with an annual intake of 180. A P.G. Program (M.Tech Communication Systems) was started in the year 2006 with an in take of 18 and later in the year 2013 the annual student intake was enhanced to 24. The college is recognized by the AICTE, Institution of Engineers (India) and accredited by NBA. Guided by the college’s mission, the department thrives to impart quality education and competitive spirit among students for academic excellence. The department has experienced faculty and excellent infrastructural facilities in terms of laboratories, space and computer systems.
The department has many laboratories viz. Electronic Device and circuits Laboratory, Analog Electronics and Circuits Laboratory, Linear Integrated Circuits & Pulse Circuits Laboratory, Analog communications laboratory, Digital communications laboratory, Digital Integrated Circuits laboratory, Microprocessors laboratory, Microwave and antennas Laboratory, VHDL Laboratory, Project Lab, DSP Laboratory and M.Tech Communication Laboratory with state-of-art facilities for student practical training and research work. An exclusive computer centre with a network of 40 terminals and access to internet caters to the computational needs of this department staff and students. A separate department library with around 2000 volumes is also established for quick reference and information in addition to the main Library. The ECE Association, formed by a group of faculty members and students, conducts various programs like seminars, expert lectures, etc., for excellence in academics and other co-curricular activities. An alumni cell looks after the interaction with the old students of this department.
