CENTRE FOR BIOMEDICAL AND IMAGE PROCESSING (CBIP)

centre_biomedical

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, S.R.K.R. Engineering College has established two Centres of Excellence for the improvement and enrichment of engineering and technology knowledge. These centres are being successful in inspiring the students, faculty & other science and engineering communities in updating their technological skills and their orientation towards research and technology development. These research centres mainly focus on the development of solutions for diagnosis of brain related problems efficiently through image processing techniques and designing microchip RF antennas. . The activities of CBIP Research Centre are to develop efficient algorithms related to biomedical image processing and CRFAR is to design microchip RF antennas. Our research centers work aims in creating awareness and contributing directly to the society.

The mission of the CBIP Research Centre is to develop and apply technologies to understand, analyze, human brain in developing efficient techniques and algorithms which helps doctors and medical experts for easy, fast and early diagnosis of diseases.

The vision of the CBIP Research Centre is to develop more complex and efficient algorithms in dealing with medical imaging combined with signal processing techniques as well as application towards satellite imaging

Biomedical Signal and Image processing Research Centre ( CBIP) and RF Antenna Research Center (CRFAR) inaugurated on 5th December, 2014 in the Department of Electronics and communication Engineering by institutional funds of S.R.K.R. Engineering College

  • One promising approach is to use signal processing techniques to obtain a high-resolution (HR) image (or sequence) and super resolution (SR) (or HR) image reconstruction or simply resolution enhancement.
  • The SR image reconstruction is proved to be useful in many practical cases where multiple frames of the same scene can be obtained, including medical imaging, satellite imaging, and video applications. On obtaining SR images usingsoftware we are planning to classify brain tumors, detection of tumors, applying segmentation and noise reduction techniques for early and efficient detection of tumors.
  • We are planning to develop advanced encryption and decryption algorithms using SR images and scan patterns. The group is also planning for enhancing image resolution related to satellite images and applying advanced image processing techniques on such satellite images.
  • The RESEARCH CENTRE is also planning for developing algorithms and testing on color images, videos and static and dynamic images.
