ABOUT US

Centre for Archeology, Technology and Cultural Heritage (CATCH) is a multidisciplinary centre that brings together resources from across the SRKREC, state and central organizations. The centre promotes research into all aspects of precedent human activity from across the globe with the aim of making our research accessible to the widest consultation as possible. The centre brings together arts and sciences in order to investigate how humans have been influenced by, and changed their environment.


VISION:

Inclusion of heritage in all relevant policies and decisions of the state and make people aware and vigilant about heritage issues to take initiations for protecting and preserving the cultural assets of the nation.

MISSION:

Catch aims to achieve its vision by offering quality research to create motivated professionals through research, documentation and publications; by organising national and international seminars, conferences and symposia to expand and explore successful heritage experiences and practices across the world, offer consultancy to heritage stakeholders and provide inputs for policy making.


OBJECTIVES:

Catch is a centre of excellence and training centre setup by SRKREC, Bhimavaram. The centre guided by the vision of empowering the society by generating and disseminating knowledge pertaining to the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of our state.

  • To investigate natural and cultural environment, monuments tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
  • To document, study, preserve and popularise the heritage of our state which is facing threat from weathering and decomposing process.
  • To become an advanced research centre by undertaking research projects on Archeological sites.
  • To initiate series of activities involving workshops and seminars and to bring out Research publications.
  • To train teachers, students and technicians in various related subjects like archaeology conservation and heritage tourism periodically.
  • To draw up action plans for restoration, repairs and maintain respective heritage monuments.
  • To preserve and maintain buildings-monuments, nature and cultural environment.

About SRKR

Sagi Ramakrishnam Raju Engineering College (SRKR Engineering College), is a co-educational, autonomous private Engineering college. It is one of the oldest institutes formed in 1980's to provide a better quality technical education to students. The college is located in the country side with a scenic beauty in a 30 acres plot in Chinna-Amiram.
